Short Film Depicts Difficulties for Fishing Families

For generations, the families of Ros Sophy and her husband Mao relied on fishing, sometimes resorting to illegal methods when stocks ran low. They often found themselves in debt, taking out loans at exorbitant fees. But a new program by Conservation International has given people new methods for fishing—and saving money. VOA Khmer’s Men Kimseng interviews John Martin, producer of the CI’s visual story telling unit, who filmed Ros Sophy and her family on his recent visit to Cambodia. (Men Kimseng, Washington)
