Cambodian political parties kicked off the first day of official campaigning Thursday, July 27, with rallies, music, loud-speakers, leaflets, and throngs of supporters. Three major parties - the ruling Cambodian People's Party (CPP), the opposition Cambodian National Rescue Party (CNRP), and the League for Democracy Party, a minor party - started their campaign in the capital city Phnom Penh.
