A Cambodian court charges a Singaporean man Friday for attempting to smuggle heroin out of Cambodia.

The 35 year-old man was arrested at the Phnom Penh International Airport Thursday with 3 kilograms of heroin wrapping around his waist and legs.

If convicted, the man could be sentenced to a maximum of 20 years and a fine of several thousands of dollars.

The Singapore embassy in Phnom Penh says it is aware of the arrest but declines to make any comments
