Human Rights Groups Ask Donors to Help Fund KR Tribunal - 2004-11-15

Seventeen human rights organizations jointly wrote an open letter to a number of nations asking them to reconsider funding the Khmer Rouge tribunal through the United Nations.

So far only Japan and Australia have committed to the tribunal which is estimated to cost around 60 million dollars.

The human rights groups said their works would be undermined if the former Khmer Rouge leaders escape justice.
