King Norodom Sihanouk warned that the Sam Rainsy Party (SRP) could be in jeopardy in its response to Prime Minister Hun Sen's allegations that it is involving in what Mr. Hun Sen called an illegal military buildup.
In the past, the SRP officials has told VOA that it is not illegal to create a military and civilian government structure within a party, known as the shadow government, as long as it does not use any armed forces.
Earlier this week Mr. Hun Sen accused Mr. Sam Rainsy of being involved in the creation of an unlawful force of 280 men in 7 districts in the capital of Phnom Penh.
