Cambodian Opposition Party president Mr. Sam Rainsy said his party opposes the block vote and the planned vote by hands to elect the national assembly president and the prime minister at the same time.
Speaking to VOA by phone Monday, Mr. Sam Rainsy said his party is still debating whether or not it would attend the July 8 parliamentary session. He said his party would stay out if he doesn't think he would have a chance to speak out against the unconstitutional block vote.
Mr. Sam Rainsy also said he has not decided to join the government yet at this time because he said there are many developments that could affect his decision.
FUNCINPEC president Norodom Ranaridh has said he wanted to give some high-ranking positions in the new coalition government to the Sam Rainsy party but has to discuss with FUNCINPEC General Secretary Norodom Sirivudh first.
