Cambodia's Prime Minister Visits China - 2004-04-19


Cambodia's prime minister is heading for China for a five day visit at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart, Wen Jiabao.

Prime Minister Hun Sen is leading a delegation of government and business leaders who hope to promote trade and economic cooperation with China.

The high-ranking delegation includes foreign minister Hor Nam Hong, Co-defense minister Tea Banh, and minister of councils of minister Sok An, and a number of businessmen.

Speaking briefly to reporters at the Phnom Penh international airport, Mr. Hun Sen said this is an important trip for Cambodia because it strengthens the relationship between Cambodia and China.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Hor Nam Hong said Cambodia is expected to sign 16 agreements with China.
