Around four hundred employees went on strike for the second day on Wednesday to demand the owner of a garment factory in Phnom Penh, MS International, pay their ages during their suspension since December, 2003.
A factory source said the owner agreed to pay 50% of the workers' backpay on the April 3, and the other 50% at the end of April.
But the workers insist that they be paid in full on April 3. They fear the factory may declare bankruptcy before the end of April, and the owner will disappear.
The union representatives asked the Ministry of Social Welfare to intervene on their behalf.
