Mr.Eng Chhay Eang, SRP general secretary, said that a SRP activist,Chhoeum Chhoeung, 38, had escaped an assassination attempt in Bavel district, Battambang province, Friday night. Battambang Province governor Prach Chan rejected SRP accusation saying that the village chief fired on the air, not at the activist, because he thought that there were thieves. Meanwhile, three men suspected of killing two SRP activists Thursday night in Banteay Meanchey province, were arrested on Saturday.
