On Saturday night, Mr. Lay Kong, SRP activist, was assassinated in O Raing Ov district, Kompong Cham province.
Mr. Eng Chhay Eang, SRP Secretary-General, claimed that it may be a political assassination because Mr. Lay Kong was very active during election campaigns and did not have any conflicts with anyone.
Kompong Cham Provine police chief said that he knew about the killing but he did not give details about any political affiliation.
