Mou Sochua, Cambodian Minister of Women's Affairs, visited Washington, D.C. on 23 September. She met with members of the U.S. Congress, State Department, and several American non-governmental organizations to talk about violence against women in Cambodia.
She stopped by VOA for an interview with the Khmer service about domestic violence in Cambodia. She said that the U.S. government will give money to her department to help fight the problem.
When she returns to Cambodia, she will propose a law to make violence against women a crime punishable by law.
