The US Senate's International Relations Committee held a
confirmation hearing on Wednesday for Carol Rodley, a former deputy chief of
mission in Phnom Penh who has been nominated as
the next ambassador to Cambodia.
Rodley, who has also served in the State Department's Bureau
of Intelligence and Research, will not begin her assignment until she is
approved by the full Senate.
The former ambassador, Joseph Mussomeli, ended his
three-year tour in Cambodia
