PM Drops Charges Against Ex-King's Son-in-Law

Funcinpec and CPP officials Friday agree to put an end to charges against Khek Vandy, the son in law of retired King Norodom Sihanouk, for slander.

The Cambodian Prime Minister has accused Funcinpec party lawmaker Khek Vandy of telling King Sihamoni the CPP leaders were unhappy with him for listening to his father, former King Norodom Sihanouk.

Hun Sen has accused Khek Vandy of deliberately creating a rift between his party and Cambodia’s ruling King Norodom Sihamoni.

In a statement Wednesday, the Prime Minister has said leaders of the ruling party Cambodian People’s Party still love, support and respect the present king.

However, Prime Minister Hun Sen asserts that he still required clarifications from Khek Vandy in regards to his comment.
