U.S. And NGOs Welcome Mr. Sam Rainsy and PM Hun Sen's Meeting

The U.S. diplomats and NGOs officials welcome the meeting between Prime Minister Hun Sen and opposition Sam Rainsy on Monday saying they use means to solve their conflict for national interest and for democracy.

Prime Minister Hun Sen and Mr. Sam Rainsy met face to face for almost 3 hours behind closed doors at Mr. Hun Sen's residence on Sunday after Mr. Sam Rainsy return from self-exile in France.

U.S. Embassy's spokesman Jeff Daigle says that those are the things that the Sam Rainsy party legislators are working out for themselves, how they cooperate with the government, how they are working with the gorvernment, and drawing an opposition party and helping to promote democracy.

Director of the Center for Social Development Chea Vannath says that the two leaders' meeting is better than no meeting at all, because it shows they respect each other's position in solving national issue.
