Cambodians Welcome The United States' Help in Activists Release

Ten of thousands of Cambodians, monks, motorcycles public transport drivers, workers, teachers, NGOs officials, and civil servants express their thanks to the international community especially the U.S. for the intervention and pressure on the government resulting in the activists release Tuesday after a meeting between U.S. State Department high ranking official Christopher Hill and Prime Minister Hun Sen.

A young Cambodian lady says that the U.S. promotes democracy and freedom and helps the Cambodian people to stop violence.

Opposition Sam Rainsy party says that the U.S. plays an important role in promoting democracy.

Government spokesman Khieu Kanharith dismisses allegations that the international community especially the U.S. put pressure on the govenment for this release.
