Major Clashes Between Cambodian, Thai Troops Near Preah Vihear

Cambodian and Thai troops were engaged in intense, sporadic fighting near Preah Vihear temple for nearly three hours on Friday February 4th, 2011. Fighting included the firing of multiple rockets from vehicle platforms and from tanks, Cambodian military officials said. The temple, which straddles the Thai-Cambodian border, belongs to Cambodia under a 1962 World Court ruling disputed by many Thais. (Courtesy of AP & Reuters)
