Foreign Fishing Trawlers Intrude into Cambodia's Waters - 2004-01-20

Fishermen in Koh Kong province accused Fisheries authorities of accepting bribes and criticized them for the lack of abilities to control the Thai and Vietnamese fishing boats that intrude into Cambodian waters day and night.

The Koh Kong Lieutenant Governor admitted there are some illegal fishing activities by Thai and Vietnamese fishing boats, but they mostly occured in overlapping territorial waters.
