CPP May Try to Put Pressure on the King on Parliament - 2003-09-17

The Cambodian People's Party (CPP) seems to be putting pressure on king Norodom Sihanouk to convene parliament later this month, after the king announced he would not call the meeting because the Sam Rainsy told him its members cannot go to the National Assembly.

The CPP spokesman told VOA his party's newly-elected members of parliament will come to the capital to sign a petition to ask the king to convene the parliamentary session according to Cambodia's constitution.
