Tribunal Meets With Khmer Rouge Rebels

Tribunal judges met with former Khmer Rouge rebels in one of their last strongholds to urge them to cooperate with the UN-backed court. VOA's Poch Reasey has the report.

Although the court's mandate allows it to try only the most senior Khmer Rouge leaders, many lower-ranking members fear they could also be prosecuted.

The tribunal has so far arrested and charged five former leaders of the regime: torture chief Duch, ideologue Nuon Chea, former president Khieu Samphan, former foreign affairs minister Ieng Sary and former social affairs minister Ieng Thirith.
