A delegation from the US Holocaust Memorial Museum arrived in Cambodia this week, with plans to create a virtual tour of the Khmer rouge tribunal back in Washington, officials said Thursday. The 19-member delegation includes Michael Abramowitz, director of the museum’s Committee on Conscience, and Michael Chertoff, former Homeland Security chief. One aim of the visit is to put data from the UN-backed Khmer Rouge tribunal into a exhibition at the Holocaust museum in Washington. Abramowitz told VOA Khmer it could take up to 18 months to get an exhibit up and running. Chhang Youk, head of the Documentation Center of Cambodia, which is working with the delegation, said the exhibition would focus on “genocide in Cambodia in the context of globalization.” (Kong Sothanarith, Phnom Penh)
