Prime Minister Hun Sen Thursday appeals to all political parties to unify to defend Cambodia's sovereignty and to leave a legacy for the next generation. Speaking at a commencement ceremony at a private academic institute in Phnom Penh Hun Sen said Cambodia should have unity from all walks of life to make the border a border of friendship and a border of cooperation.
Sam Rainsy opposition party and government's officials said that they hope Mr. Hun Sen's words are not just for political gain for the Additional border treaty which he signed with Vietnam recently.
Opposition lawmaker Keo Remy said he welcomes the Prime Minister's comment and supports it one hundred percent. However he urged Mr. Hun Sen to stop all lawsuits against his critics and release all who have been jailed.
