Doctor Peter Van Moren of the World Health Organization (WHO), who is based in the Philippines, told VOA today that this is the meeting for the TB organizers from seven countries that are serious victims of TB in the region.
He noted that the seven countries are: Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Philippines, Papua New Guinea and Mongolia. Dr. Van Moren stated, "This meeting is very important in eradicating TB from 2006-2010."
WHO will discuss with each country about strategies to stop the spreading of TB.
Dr. Van Moren also stated, "Cambodia has a high number of people afflicated with TB because of HIV-AIDS."
