Cambodian Ministry of Health confirms Wednesday that the woman who died in Vietnam last month did have the bird flu virus.
The twenty-year old Kampot woman died in a Vietnam hospital on April 19. She was the fourth victim who died of bird flu.
All 4 victims were from Kampot province which shares a border with Vietnam.
According to the joint statement issued by the Cambodian Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization, medical test conducted at the Pasteur Institute in Vietnam has proven that the young woman contracted the bird flu virus.
