PM Hun Sen Can't Help Sam Rainsy

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen said he could not guarantee in writing that opposition party leader Sam Rainsy will not be arrested upon his return to Cambodia to be part of the newly-formed National Supreme Council on Border Issues .

Speaking at a graduation ceremony in Phnom Penh Tuesday, Hun Sen said if the court issues an arrest for Sam Rainsy, there's nothing he can do to stop the court's proceedings.

The opposition party leader left Cambodia on February 3 the same day the National Assembly voted to strip the immunity of three opposition lawmakers including Rainsy so that they could face charges in several lawsuits.

The Sam Rainsy Party(SRP) spokesman Eng Chhay Eang said the SRP can not believe whatever Prime Minister Hun Sen says because he keeps changing his positions and that his comments are not appropriate as a leader of a country.
