The meeting between National Assembly President Norodom Ranariddh and Sam Rainsy Party leader Son Chhay did not result in the release of opposition lawmaker Cheam Channy on bail.
The opposition party also failed to convince Ranariddh to restore the parliamentary immunity of the three lawmakers.
However, Ranariddh said he would discuss the two issues with Prime Minister Hun Sen over tonight's dinner, but said he could not guarantee the outcome.
Ranariddh also urged the opposition lawmakers to return to attend parliamentary sessions.
Son Chhay said the meeting was a positive one and that he would report to the Sam Rainsy Party. He said it's up the the Sam Rainsy Party to decide whether or not to end the boycott.
