National Assembly President Norodom Ranariddh says he is not in the position to bail Cheam Channy out of jail.
Speaking to reporters at a health convention in Phnom Penh, Ranariddh says he did write a letter to the investigating judge of the military court asking him to look into the request of the Sam Rainsy Party to keep Cheam Channy out of jail on bail.
The military judge says he replied to Ranariddh telling him that the case is now in the hands of the Appeal Court. The judge says the military court is also waiting for a decision of the Appeals Court.
