Opposition Party Asks King Sihanouk for Help - 2004-05-28

A member of Parliament from the opposition Sam Rainsy Party has sent a letter to King Norodom Sihanouk in Pyonyang, North Korea, to request the monarch's help in protecting Cambodia's independence, integrity, and sovereignity.

Mr. Keo Remy told VOA he asked the King to use his constitutional duties and responsibilities to help call the leaders of the three main parties to resolve the current political deadlock which has gone on for more than ten months, and normalize the life of the Cambodian people.
