Factory Workers Ended Strike Peacefully - 2004-05-07

Thousands of garment factory workers Friday decided to end their strike peacefully, after a 67 year-old Thai woman issued an apology in front of them on behalf of a fellow Thai national who allegedly ordered Cambodian flags removed or torn from the walls of the factory where she was a buyer.

The workers demanded that the Thai woman apologize and admit that Angkor Wat belongs to Cambodia.

The factory union representative told VOA the workers will report back to work tomorrow as usual.
