NGO Officials Are Encouraged by Intense Negotiations to Form New Government - 2004-05-03

Non-governmental organizations in Cambodia say the intense negotiation between CPP and FUNCINPEC to form a new government is a good thing for the future of Cambodia.

President of the Cambodian Center for Human Rights Mr. Kem Sokha said he would like to see the meetings of the working groups being televised so that the people can see who's serving the interest of the nation and who's not.

President of the Center for Social Development Mrs. Chea Vannath, said the two parties show good intentions in the intense negotiations but they need to set a clear timetable.
