Mr. Lu Lay Sreng, tried to clarify the FUNCINPEC Party's positions to those people who expressed their disappointment and scepticism with the royalist party, after it decided to form a two-party coalition government with the Cambodian People's Party.
Mr. Lu said the FUNCINPEC Party will be more careful than before with its dealings with the CPP, and will not allow the party to lose popularity with the people. He asked the party supporters not to prejudge the party leadership and allow Prince Norodom Ranariddh, the party president, to show that he will not fall into the same trap again as in 1993 and 1998.
