A group of Human Rights Organizations in Cambodia are requesting the Phnom Penh police to release the two suspects in the Chea Vichea murder case.
The group which consists of 17 Human Rights Organizations said police did not have the court order and evidence to arrest Sok Sam Oeun, 36, and Born Samnang, 23. The group also said its own investigation showed that the two suspects were not at the scene of the crime and had alibi.
Police general Heng Pov said only the court has the decision to release the suspects. He said he had permission to bring in the suspects for interrogation.
