King Norodom Sihanouk Left for Beijing Amid Deadlock - 2004-01-19


Cambodian King Norodom Sihanouk left for Beijing Monday for routine medical exam.

The king told VOA stringer that the new government can be formed by two or three parties as long as a deal is worked out between the three parties.

FUNCINPEC spokesman Mr. Nov Kasie said his parties abide by the three-party principal.

Opposition party president Mr. Sam Rainsy said the Alliance of Democrats will join the government together or withdraw from it together.

Cambodia People's Party Spokesman Mr. Khieu Kanariddh said CPP abide by the November 5th agreement made in the royal palace.
