Cambodian PM Wants to Stay in Power 3 More Decades

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen says he hopes to stay in power for three more decades.

In a speech today, the 55-year-old Cambodian leader said he will continue to run for reelection until he is 90.

Mr. Hun Sen has ruled Cambodia since becoming prime minister in 1985, during the Vietnamese occupation that followed the demise of Cambodia's genocidal Khmer Rouge regime in 1979.

His ruling Cambodian People's Party has governed the country in various coalitions since disputed elections in 1993.

Cambodia will hold local elections this year and a general election in 2008. The country has no term limits.
