A Japanese Investment Company Plans To Open a Phnom Penh Regional Economic Site


A new Japanese investment company with nearly $90 million plans to build a Phnom Penh regional economic site which may attract more than 100 factories and create jobs for more than 100,000 Cambodians.

Japanese company Zephyr. Co, Ltd. and Phnom Penh Sez Co., Ltd. announce the plan in a press release during a signing ceremony between the two companies, attended by Mr. Fumiaki Takahashi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Kingdom of Cambodia.

Both companies plan to form Japan Cambodia Development Corporation or JCDC.

JCDC plans to develop an economic site in Phnom Penh on a land measuring 365 hectares along National Highway 4 in Ang Snuol town, Kandal province, about 15km. from Phnom Penh.

The project is expected to be finished in 4 years beginning in November.
