The opposition Sam Rainsy party's (SRP) shadow government continues its activities even though this government's chairman Cheam Channy was imprisoned because of his role in forming this government.
SRP legislators' president Son Chhay says that the shadow government or the National Assembly and Government Watchdog Commission is not illegal, but Mr. Cheam Channy arrest was due to a misunderstanding of this commission.
He says that this commission will undergo reforms and will have new principles. This commission was formed in 2001 and has 14 commissions.
