There is a development that happens very fast and opposition party legislator Cheam Channy is released from a military prison, after an official liniency is granted because Mr. Sam Rainsy, Prince Ranariddh, and Prime Minister Hun Sen informed King Sihamoni of their intention to get his Majesty's royal pardon.
Mr. Sam Rainsy told VOA stringer that he is very happy that Mr. Cheam is released, and that the situation in Cambodia is better, that those who are accused are free of charges in the court of law, and that all of the activists are free to conduct their activities legally, so that they can develop their nation, and protect the people.
Mr. Sam Rainsy believes that when the ruling parties and the opposition party can work together toward democracy, the country will prosper.
He says that he is happy if there is democracy in Cambodia.
He says he believes that there will be more developments if the political leaders can talk, and there will be hope for Cambodia.
He says that there should be ruling parties, and opposition party that will monitor the ruling parties' actions.
