Cambodian Center for Human Rights Continues Its Forum

About 1,000 local people gathered and participated in the Cambodian Center for Human Rights' (CCHR) forum in Takeo province, and demanded the release of the CCHR director Kem Sokha, and its acting director Pa Nguon Teang who are being imprisoned in Prey Sar prison.

This forum is being monitored by the US Embassy and the International Republican Institute (IRI) and was conducted successfully.

The participants were worried that the activists arrests resemble the event in Burma in which the government silences its critics.

The CCHR's spokesman Ou Virak notices that the people are sad but they asked many questions about the arrests.
