Cambodia Destroys Surface-to-Air Missiles

The United States Embassy in Phnom Penh, Cambodia said it's happy that Cambodia plans to destroy 36 surface-to-air missiles to prevent them from falling into the hands of foreign militants.

Co-defense minister Nhek Bun Chhay said that his department will destroy the Soviet made FA-3 missiles this Friday.

US Embassy spokesman Jeff Daigle says that these missiles have "no value to the Cambodian government for the protection of Cambodia, but they would be useful to terrorists if they fall into their hands. So it only makes sense to destroy them."

Last year Cambodia destroyed more than 60 shoulder to air missiles.
