Hun Sen studies Pol Pot documents

Prime Minister Hun Sen said today (Tuesday), that he gathered Pol Pot's five-year-documents for research on the cause of his genocidal regime, which ruled Cambodia from 1975 to 1979.

Hun Sen told the students in Phnom Penh that he did some research on the Khmer Rouge regime and he came across “The Caste Division in the Khmer Society”, written by Pol Pot in 1966.

Hun Sen said that the documents showed the sowing of hatred and the Khmer Rouge's brutality.

Eng Chhay Ieng, Opposition Sam Rainsy party's General Secretary, said that the studies revealed the consequences of the caste prejudice.

The SRP secretary-general said he hoped Prime Minister Hun Sen would ask his ministers not to be prejudiced against those who are not supportive of his CPP party.
