  • VOA News

Iraqi police say at least 23 people were killed and 58 others wounded in two separate insurgent attacks Tuesday.

A bomb blast near a bank in the northern city of Kirkuk killed 18 people and wounded 53 others. Police say the blast occurred as people - mostly pensioners - lined up outside the bank.

In Kenaan, near Baquba, a suicide car bombing killed at least five Iraqi soldiers and wounded three soldiers and two civilians.

In other developments, Associated Press news agency quoted officials at a Baghdad hospital as saying they have received the bodies of 24 men killed in recent ambushes in western Iraq.

And, Iraq's special tribunal released a video of a judge questioning Saddam Hussein about the killings of at least 50 Iraqis in a Shi'ite town. News reports say it was recorded Sunday.
