Koh Kong court Tuesday decided to drop charges against four people who were accused of smuggling people to work in Thailand.
Koh Kong prosecutor aide said that witnesses claimed that the accused did try to get legal passes to cross the border and that they were not trying to smuggle people into Thailand.
At least 23 people from Battambang province including 12 girls attempted to cross into Thailand at Koh Kong province.They were turned back at the Cambodian-Thai border and said they were held for several days before being released.
They also complained that Koh Kong authorities took their belongings and all their money. Koh Kong officials can not be reached for comments.
