It was a night of drama at the Democratic National Convention Wednesday as delegates heard from a true icon of their party. Former president Bill Clinton gave an impassioned speech to nominate President Barack Obama for a second term. Then, Mr. Obama gave the Democratic delegates a surprise. President Barack Obama embraces the man who served before him, former president Bill Clinton -- a moment of unity for a party facing a divisive electorate. The two once sparred when Mr. Clinton’s wife, Hillary, ran against Mr. Obama in Democratic presidential primaries in 2008. On this night, though, Mr. Clinton nominates the president for a second term. VOA's Reasey Poch was there.
